Office for Cooperation with Civil Society as the National Contact Point for Europe for Citizens Program informs all stakeholders that a new Work Program for 2019 has been adopted.
This program defines priorities for 2019, as follows:
Strand 1 - European remembrance
Priorities:
Civil society and civic participation in totalitarian regimes
Democratic transition and EU accession
Antisemitism, antigypsism, xenophobia, homophobia, and other forms of intolerance - lessons for the contemporary moment
Commemorating significant historical events from recent European history
Year 2019:
-1919. Peace agreements leading to the end of the First World War (including the Treaty of Versailles)
-1939. The end of the Spanish civil war from the European perspective
-1979. European parliamentary elections
-1989. Democratic revolution in Central and Eastern Europe and the fall of the Berlin Wall
-2004. 15 years since the EU enlargement in Central and Eastern Europe
Year 2020:
-1950. Schuman's declaration
-1990. Uniting of Germany
-2000. European Convention on Human Rights
Strand 2 - Democratic Engagement and Citizen Participation
Priorities:
Debate on the future of Europe and Euro-skepticism, extremism and racism in Europe
Promoting solidarity in times of crisis
Encouraging intercultural dialogue, mutual understanding and the fight against the stigmatization of migrants and minority groups
Also, we remind all interested parties that there has been a change in deadlines for submission of proposals in 2019 and 2020.
For projects under Chapter 1 - European Remembrance, the deadline for applying is February 1, 2019 and 2020 (instead of March 1st); for Town Twinning there are still two deadlines for submission of proposals, on February 1, 2019 and 2020 (instead of March 1st) and September 1, 2019 and 2020. Deadlines for Network of Towns remained unchanged - March 1, 2019 and 2020 and September 1, 2019 and 2020, and for projects of civil society organizations, the deadline for submitting proposals is September 1, 2019 and 2020 (instead March 1st).
