Representatives of the Office for Cooperation with Civil Society participated at an informal meeting of national contact points for the program "Europe for Citizens" held on December 6, 2018. in Vienna, Austria. The meeting was attended by representatives from 24 countries participating in the program, as well as representatives of the Executive Agency for Educational, Audiovisual and Cultural Policy (EACEA).
The main topics of the meeting were the Commission's announcements regarding the changes in the programs in the next financial perspective 2021-2027, the best examples in organizing regional activities and joint promotion of the program as well as a joint strategy for increasing the visibility of the program. The largest part of the meeting was dedicated to the process of establishing the structure of the new program "Rights and Values".
At the invitation of the Austrian National Contact Point, representatives of the Office for Cooperation with Civil Society participated at the Final Conference on the European Year of Cultural Heritage under the name of #EuropeForCulture, on 6 and 7 December, where the main theme was the promotion and preservation of a diverse European cultural heritage in a sustainable way. During the first day of the conference, the most successful projects were organized at various locations in Vienna, where the participants had the opportunity to participate in a series of interactive workshops. Interactive workshops provided opportunities for representatives of the Office for further networking and exchange of experience with the representatives of the institutions of the member states of the European Union. In the plenary part of the conference, the participants were greeted by: Gernot Blumel, Austrian Federal Minister for EU, Art, Culture and Media, EU Commissioner Tibor Navracic and member of the European Parliament Petra Kamerevert, after which representatives of the Office attended the panels on the role of young people in preserving cultural heritage and cultural heritage and sustainable development.
