The Office for Cooperation with Civil Society participated last week in the annual meeting of the Programing Committee of the Europe for Citizens Program. At the meeting that was held on September 20 in Brussels, representatives of the participating countries had the opportunity to get acquainted with the results of the Program so far and plans for the upcoming year. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs, who are in charge of the Program, and representatives of the Education, Audiovisual and Cultural Policy Executive Agency in charge of the implementation of the Program.
The key topics of the meeting were the work program for 2020 and the priorities for 2020, the results achieved in 2018 and the results of the first two calls in 2019. The meeting discussed the next steps in preparation for the new Financial Perspective 2021-2027 when the Europe for Citizens Program will be merged with other existing programs into one new Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values program which will provide support to civil society organizations and their activities.
At the meeting, representatives of the European Commission reported on the most significant achievements from the Conference heldin March in Brussels, entitled "History defines the future", as well as the contribution of the Program itself to the European Parliament elections earlier this year.
