A regional workshop and networking of civil society organizations and local self-government units within the Europe for Citizens program named Connecting Neighbors 2019 - writing the EU story together, was held in Sarajevo at the Holiday Inn Hotel from October 22-24, 2019, organized by the Office for Cooperation with Civil Society of the Republic of Serbia, as national contact points for this program in cooperation with partners, national contact points from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia and Montenegro.
The workshop was organized with the aim of networking potential partners from the region and jointly preparing a project proposal for application under the Europe for Citizens 2020 program. A total of 45 participants from partner countries had the opportunity to get to know each other through business speed dating, while on the second day of the workshop they received information on the content of the program, its measures, multi-year priorities, the technical preparation of project proposals and the basics of project management. Then, through an interactive exercise, 8 project ideas were selected and elaborated, with the professional guidance of representatives of contact points from Croatia, Slovenia and Serbia, Željka Markulin, Darja Sekula Krstić and Sanja Atanasković Opačić.
