Open Government Partnership: Successfull consultations with CSOs
Тhe first consultation with CSO rrepresentatives on defining priorities for the second Action Plan for the implementation of the Open Government Partnership in the Republic of Serbia for the period from 2016 to 2017 was held in Serbia Palace on February 19th , 2016.
The event brought together more than fifty participants. In his opening remarks, Mr. Željko Ožegović State Secretary of the Ministry of State Administration and Local self-government emphasized the importance of OGP Initiative within the general framework of the reform of public administration. He emphasized the government's commitment to strengthening the process within the framework of the OGP and pointed out that this represents a powerful instrument in the process of EU integration process.
Milena Banovic addressed to the audience on behalf of the Office for Cooperation with Civil Society, pointing out the importance of this global initiative in the context of openness and transparency of public institutions. Involvement of CSOs, said Banovic, is not only in accordance with the principles and guidelines which OGP goals, but clearly shows the commitment of the Serbian Government in the creation of a growing number of strategic documents.
Consultations have been carried out in the form of 6 working groups in which participants discussed the following topics: public participation, integrity of government (fight against corruption), access to information, fiscal transparency, open data and public services.
