Office for Cooperation with Civil Society has continued to promote the Europe for Citizens Programme and its priorities for the period 2016-2020. On May 17th and 18th 2016 Office representatives visited Loznica and Sabac, where they introduced the program and responded to numerous questions related to the planning and implementation of EFC projects.
The presentation that was held in Loznica, on May 17th, was attended by nearly 40 representatives of CSOs and local governments. The meeting was opened by Ms. Ljiljana Nikolic, Head of the Department for Local Economic Development of the City Government of Loznica, pointing out the possibilities that the EFC provides for the development of local communities. Jelena Pajović van Reenen and Marina Tadic, representatives from the Office presented the structure and main characteristics of this program, as well as successful examples of projects where the project applicant were organisations from Serbia.
The following day, on May 18th, the Europe for Citizens Programme was presented in Sabac to 50 representatives of CSOs and local government. The presentation was opened by Mr. Nebojsa Zelenovic, mayor of Sabac who stressed the importance of establishing partnerships with various stakeholders, through participation in EU programs. After a detailed presentation of the Programme, Mrs. Gordana Mandic Radosavljevic presented the experience of Sabac CSO Light, in participating in the project WONET, approved in 2015.
