Office for Cooperation with Civil Society participated last week at the annual meeting of the Programme Committee of the Programme Europe for Citizens. At the meeting, held on 18 October in Brussels, representatives of the states that participate in the program had the opportunity to discuss the interim results of the Programme and the plans for the coming year with representatives of the General Directorate for Migration and Home Affairs,that is responsible for the program, and representatives of EACEA, that implements the program.
Key topics of the meeting were the work program for 2017, a report on activities for 2015, the results achieved in 2016, as well as a plan for evaluation of the program, that will include open and public online consultations where all interested parties will be able to declare on the results of the Programme.
Since the beginning of the financial perspective in 2014, the program Europe for Citizens allocated about 60 million for projects that gathered over 1,000 participants. Representatives of the structures that implement program highlighted the constant rise of interest for this program in Europe, with almost 2,800 applications received in 2015. Although the pass rate is low, it is pointed out that every year more projects are supported than in the previous year.
