On 27 March 2017, the Office for Cooperation with Civil Society, in cooperation with the City Administration of Zrenjanin, organized an info session dedicated to the presentation of the work of the Office, and in particular the "Europe for Citizens" programme.
The gathering was opened by Mr. Duško Radišić, Assistant Mayor of Zrenjanin for the area of local socio-economic development. He emphasized the importance of better preparation for the use of available EU funds and presented the support that the city of Zrenjanin has provided in the previous years for civil society organizations.
Sanja Atanasković Opačić presented the work of the Office for Cooperation with Civil Society and the support provided by the Office to the public administration and the civil sector, as well as available data on cooperation between these two sectors and financial support to organizations from the state budget.
Marina Tadić, EFC contact person at the Office, presented the goals and priorities of this EU program, the application process, as well as the previous participation of the Republic of Serbia.
More than 50 participants of the meeting had an opportunity also to get information about examples of good practice from Serbia. The representatives of the Municipality of Ruma presented current EFC project within the Networks of Towns Measure, titled "H20 WR - Networking and inclusion of citizens for the protection of water resources in Europe", as well as their previous experiences of participation in the programme as partners.
The Youth Office of the City of Zrenjanin presented its work and cooperation with local organizations, while local association "European Generation" talked about its activities in the field of promoting European values and raising the level of youth awareness about the EU.
